‘Treasures of SOX’ features wonders of the South

The “Treasures of SOX” Travel and Tour Expo has opened recently at the Glorietta Mall on Sunday, May 6; showcasing SOCCSKSARGEN’s spectrum of tourism experience, ranging from folklore to culture, ecotourism and beach parties.

One of the highlights of the event is the 12th Philippine Bird Festival which will be held from May 10 to May 12 and is set to showcase the Baras Bird Sanctuary of Tacurong City which is expected to draw in birdwatchers, conservationists and nature enthusiasts from all over Asia.

It also highlights the Sarbay Fest — dubbed the “Biggest Beach Festival of the South” — which will take place from May 24 to May 26; and the Pyesta Kolon Datal (August 11 to August 18), an international folklore festival that serves as venue for cultural exchange among various countries including the Philippines.

Various booths from SOCCSKSARGEN feature indigenous and local products such as coffee, textiles, beads.

Also showcased are some of the most sought after nature destinations in the South.
