The police are looking at the alleged illicit affairs of a slain priest with several women as one of the possible motives in his killing.

According to GMA News, President Rodrigo Duterte on Sunday, May 20, presented a matrix of supposed illicit affairs of Father Mark Anthony Ventura before residents and local officials of Tabongon, Cebu during the town’s fiesta celebration.

The matrix, titled “Possible Motive (Love Triangle)”, showed a picture of the slain priest and photos of eight women.

The President said Fr. Ventura may have been killed because of his affairs with several women, among them are married to a vice mayor, a cop, a soldier and a businessman.

The police confirmed that the alleged illicit affairs of the priest to several women are part of the ongoing investigaton.

Chief Superintendent Jose Mario Espino, director of Cagayan Valley Police Regional Office, said the personal grudge in Fr. Ventura’s killing may fall under the love angle.

Another angle being looked into by the police in Fr. Ventura’s murder is his anti-mining advocacy.

The priest was gunned down last month by a lone assassin after officiating a Mass at the town gymnasium of Gattaran in Cagayan province.
