Looking for love? Facebook to launch dating service soon

  • Facebook will soon launch a dating service
  • It will allow users to make a “Dating Profile” that their friends will not be able to see
  • Using their “Dating Profile”, they can start a conversation based on their interests

More than connecting friends and family, Facebook is now looking at the possibility of connecting you to your “forever.”

The biggest social media platform is set to launch a dating service that will help their users find a romantic partner.

Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg was quoted by GMA saying, “There are 200 million people on Facebook that list themselves as single, so clearly there’s something to do here.”

He reiterated that the dating service’s goal is not for “hook ups” but for long-term relationships. Users will get to make their own “dating profile” that will not be seen by their Facebook friends. Dating users will be able to browse interests and events near their location. From there, you can easily start a conversation or a chat with anyone.

“It mirrors the way people actually date, which is usually at events and institutions that they’re connected to,” said Chris Cox, Facebook’s chief product officer was quoted by CBNC.
