A father successfully saved his son from a 15-foot long crocodile which attacked the boy in Balabac, Palawan on Saturday afternoon, May 18.
As per Journal Online, the 15-year old boy, identified as Karik Asli Buara, was preparing their motorized banca to go fishing when the crocodile attacked him at around 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon.
The boy’s mother heard her son’s loud cry for help and rushed outside their house. She saw the large reptile dragging the boy into the sea. She immediately ran back into their house and roused her husband from sleep.
Rosmin, Karik’s father, rushed to the sea to rescue his son. He wrestled with the crocodile, but he too was bitten by it.
The crocodile released the boy only after Rosmin stabbed it in the eye.
Police Regional Office 4-B director Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Luis D. Licup said Rosmin and his son sustained several bite wounds in their bodies. They were taken to the Balabac Regional Health Unit for treatment.
