A centenarian was fearless as she placed her vote in the barangay polls.
Salumayag Calunsing, a 110-year-old woman was among the first ones who lined up to vote in Datu Dimaudtang Dilangalen Elementary School in Barangay Tugal, Midsayap, Cotabato. Just a few days ago, the school was under threat by Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters.
Calunsing shared with ABS-CBN that despite the danger, she took the effort to vote because she wants peace in their land.
The school has been placed under the “areas of concern.” The police and military have tightened the security on the teachers serving in the electoral board.
