Ian Veneracion sure has made a mark in showbiz but if he could have his way, he hopes that his children won’t follow his footsteps. Ian’s three children are now teenagers, Draco, 19; Deidre, 17, and Duccio, 11.
The Kapamilya actor admitted that as much as he enjoys showbiz, he wishes that his kids would sought a different path. He shared with Pep, “Sana, sana hindi sila mag-artista. ‘Yun nga, naghu-hope ako na sana hindi sila mag-artista.” [I wish they won’t become actors, that’s my hope.]
The father’s reason is simple; he wants his kids to have their own adventure. Ian said, “Kasi, para magkaroon sila ng sariling adventure nila in a world na wala akong kinalaman, wala akong alam. Kunwari, pumasok sila sa industry na wala akong alam doon, you know, that’s their own adventure.”
[I want them to have their own adventure where I’m not involved, something I don’t know anything about.]
When asked how the matinee idol discourages his kids to consider showbiz, Ian admitted he makes them see the real world of showbiz. He said, “Isinasama ko sila sa set para ma-bore sila at makita nila na antay ka lang pala nang antay sa set, ‘yung ganyan.”
[I bring them on set so they’ll get bored and see that most of the time, we just keep on waiting on the set.]
The A Love to Last actor previously shared with Yes! that he shares a strong bond with his kids. He said, “Para kaming barkada.” [We’re like peers.]
Ian recently posted on Instagram about their hike at the Yosemite Upper Falls.
