439 high-powered firearms surrendered in Sultan Kudarat and Maguindanao

Up to 439 high-caliber guns have been surrendered by civilians and local officials in the province of Sultan Kudarat and Maguindanao, according to a report by Bombo Radyo.

The latest firearms to be surrendered are  the 15 unlicensed firearms from Datu Hoffer Ampatuan Maguindanao.

The weapons were received by 601st Brigade Commander, B / General Diosdado Carreon which includes an M16 A2 rifle, 1 M16 A3 rifle, 1 60mm Mortar, 1 single shot 40mm grenade launcher, 2 improvise Mauser rifle and nine 12 gauge shotguns with assorted magazines and bullets.

Meanwhile, 14 firearms were also surrendered by civilians and local officials in Palimbang Sultan Kudarat to the forces of the Marine Battalion Landing Team (MBLT-5) and police.

The firearms which were turned over include ten caliber .30 M1 Garrand rifles, 2 caliber .30 M1 carbines, 1 home-made 9mm and 1 home-made shotgun.

Joint Task Force Central Commander, Major General Arnel Delavega urged local officials in Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat to intensify campaign against loose firearms under the Duterte administration.
