Detained ex-senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. has asked the Sandiganbayan to let him visit his ailing father Ramon Revilla, Sr., who is currently confined at St. Luke’s Medical Center.

In an article written by Vince Nonato of Inquirer, it was disclosed that in a three-page urgent motion, Bong said his dad was diagnosed with severe sepsis secondary to pneumonia, a serious form of blood poisoning, and had been admitted  to the intensive care unit of the hospital.

Through the motion, Bong sought to be allowed to visit his father “preferably” on the afternoon of December 14, December 15, or December 16.

The court, on the other hand, has not release a resolution on the matter, as of posting.

Sadness over a song

Earlier, Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado went emotional after hearing the Tagalog Christmas song Sana Ngayong Pasko; saying she remembered her husband and father-in-law.

Lani was not able to control her emotions when the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) carolers started singing Sana Ngayong Pasko at the Bacoor Government Center.

“Aaminin ko na may isang awitin kayo na naluha ako, oo,” said Lani; pertaining to Sana Ngayong Pasko. [I must admit that one of the songs that you rendered made me cry.]

In her speech, she mentioned her sadness over the Supreme Court’s (SC’s) decision to junk their family’s appeal for the dismissal of the plunder case filed against Bong. She said that was the reason why she cried upon hearing the song.

Aside from the SC’s decision, another thing that has been making the Bacoor mayor lonely is the condition of her father-in-law, Ramon.

“Medyo naging critical siya noong Saturday e,” said Lani. [He was in a critical condition last Saturday.]

She, on the other hand, did not elaborate on the former actor and politician’s condition.

“We just asked for prayers again, for him,” she just said.

Ramon is now 89 years old.
