VIENNE, France – An amazing McDonald’s fan is making headlines after he travels around the world to collect different McDonald’s burger boxes.

Kristie McCrum mentioned in her article for Mirror Co UK on May 24 that Serge Zaka got the attention of the online community after he managed to collect more than 300 McDonald’s burger boxes from the food giant’s different stores across the globe. What a hobby, right?

Zaka, who is from Lusignan, France, works as a climate researcher and said that paying a visit to McDonald’s is a must when it comes to sightseeing abroad.

“Some people like to get their journey with stamps or other parts,” Zaka explains his motivation in collecting burger boxes.

An article by Ellen Scott for Metro said that Zaka explained his hobby offers very specific experiences of local culture and food of the country he visited; adding to the usual Big Mac, McChicken sandwich, and Filet-o-Fish available on the store.

“In France or Switzerland, for example, there are hamburgers to local cheeses. In India, the beef being sacred, the chain has expanded its range of vegetarian or chicken burgers,” Zaka said.

Zaka said that in Germany, he tried the famous McSauerkraut with his steak, three sausages and cabbage was offered in limited edition.

“In Portugal, there is a soup section. In Quebec, it is forbidden to use English on the boxes,” Zaka narrated.

Thanks to the word spreading about his hobby, Zaka’s friends and family occasionally bring him boxes back from their travels if they can.

Recently, Zaka also caught the attention of UK-based burger enthusiast Burger Lad after it saw his tweets, from his account McDo Collection.

Zaka revealed that he doesn’t need to eat the content every time, as there are times that he shows his collections to a store manager and he is given the boxes he needs for nothing.

Once the boxes are complete, Zaka said he will be happy to put an exhibition so others can learn about McDonald’s menus around the world.

Attention, McDonald’s!
