Watch: “Drunk” man falls and ends up stuck between a house and a pavement

CHISHUI, China – A “drunk” man made an embarrassing fall and found himself in a hole between a house and a pavement; stuck and unable to move.

Keyan Milanian mentioned in his article for The Mirror published on May 17 said that the unidentified middle-aged man reportedly had enjoyed his drinks too much that he didn’t notice he was walking towards a crevice.

Firefighters were called to the scene to help as the man was stuck several feet below the surface. The rescuers tried to reach the man initially but was later forced to secure themselves with rope before lifting the man.

The video, which was filmed by bystanders in Chishui, southwest China on Monday night, showed the dramatic rescue to recover the man stuck in the 40cm-wide pitch black gap.

Judging from the clip, the man seemed to have fallen into a ditch beside the door of a house and into the gap below.

An article by Kat Romero for Express said rescuers dressed in orange jumpsuits and wearing gloves and helmets with lamps attached can be seen slowly lowering themselves to the man’s level in the gap.

After making sure they are positioned safely and securely, the rescuers lifted the man out with help from colleagues above them.

The “drunk” man, who seemed to still not have good balance, reached the surface and was immediately helped by two of the rescuers.

Despite not suffering serious injuries, the man was still taken to the hospital by rescuers to receive treatment for the cuts and bruises.
