“I had just picked up a garbage bin to buy and was carrying it before walking to the cashier, when I felt someone’s hand is on my behind. It was the defendant. He ran away when I hit him with the bin“; the Khaleej Times quoted a female overseas Filipino worker as saying.
A Pakistani carpenter decided a “No Show” in the Court of First Instance on Sunday, April 2, after he was accused of sexually offending a female OFW at a supermarket in Dubai.
The 32-year-old Filipina who works as an Assistant Manager claimed that the 28-year-old suspect touched her posterior and managed to flee in an incident that happened last December 19.
She immediately complained to the security guards and police were called. The Al Rafaa police were able to arrest the alleged groper with the help of the CCTV footage in the supermarket.
At the police station, the complainant positively identified him along other suspects. During the interrogation, the accused shrewdly admitted the accusation; explaining that he only touched the woman by mistake. But the CCTV footage backed up the Filipina’s claim; showing the man standing behind the complainant and groping her on purpose.
That’s what CCTVs are for! Truth!
